Quick Search

How to:

Type one or more keywords into the Quick search box.

Choose if the keyword must be found in:

  • the company name
  • the product or service name
  • the trademark name
Do not be too specific when you start your search.

It is preferable to use only one word in the singular form when you first begin your search.

Our search engine will automatically search for the plural form.
Example:  "child" will also return "children", "box" will also return "boxes".

If the list is too big, just add another keyword to your search.
Example : If your initial search is "pipe", just add "PVC".

When using the Quick Search, if you do not know the exact spelling of a word or if you wish to find all forms of a word, use the character * (asterisk).

Launch your search by pressing ENTER, or by clicking the « Search » button.

When your are searching for a product, a service or a trademark name, a list of possible matches will appear. The search engine broadens your search to include similar or complementary terms. Moreover, searches are made in French and in English. This explains the presence, at the bottom of the page, of an additional list of french products or services whose relevance can be variable.

The comment (Manf.) following a product indicates that it is manufactured, a (Dist.) indicates that it is distributed and a (Serv.) indicates a service.

Tick off the appropriate boxes at the right of the desired products, services or trademarks that you are looking for and

What to do if no result is found.

There are several reasons why our system cannot give you any result, even if you believe that there should be corresponding entries.

  • You made a typo.  Correct the typo and launch your search again.
  • Is there a hyphen in the company's name or the trademark you are looking for ?
  • What you think is a company name, might just be a trademark.
  • Maybe the product that you are looking for is part of a larger group of products.  Example: a pencil sharpener will be found in "office supplies".
  • Try other words that mean the same thing, such as motor vehicle instead of automobile.
  • Never use the words "manufacturer" or "wholesale" when searching by product name.
  • If you still can't find anything, you can use the Advanced Search or you can use the search by manufactured or wholesale products of the home page or call our customer service at 1-888-594-7170.

Advanced Search

The Advanced Search allows you to target a type of company using one or more of the following criteria:

Only use the criteria that are essential to your search for companies.  It is not recommended to use all the criteria.

Implicitly, the search engine will use an “AND” between each search criteria you have chosen. Within a search criteria, if you enter or select more than one value, the search engine will use an “OR” between these values.

Example: If you want to get a list of all Québec manufacturers that have between 50 and 75 employees, use the criteria no 4- Business Category and no 7- Number of Employees

Click on the Search button when you have entered all of your criteria.

The result page will show the following information :

Step 3

If you refine your search by clicking on the "Refine your search" button, there will then be, at step 3, the possibility to return to a previous level of your search in order to try a different refinement approach « breadcrumb trail ».

To save your selection, you must click on “Next” which will bring you back to the search criteria page or click on the "Search Now" button to get your list of companies immediately.

This criteria allows you to search throughout companies according to their number of employees.  Specify a range “from” “to”, for example : From 100 to 149.

For manufacturing companies, the number of employees corresponds to the selected address, since each plant has its own file. For other companies (wholesale and service companies) the number corresponds to the total number of employees in the province of Québec.

Sales Figure

This criteria allows you to search throughout companies according to their turnover in Québec. Tick off the ranges that you require. The selection « unknown » regroups companies for which a turnover is unavailable.

It is important you take note of the search result numbers, they are used to make combination searches possible. The saved searches are only saved for a period of 72 hours on our computer system.

  1. Specify your two search numbers;
  2. Choose the operator;
AND (must include) The AND operator will extract the companies that are both in query A and query B;
OR (can include) The OR operator will extract companies that are either in query A or query B, or both;

  1. Click on "Search" to view the companies that answer your search criteria.

Only the result of your search is saved; not the criteria used to obtain the result.

To retreive a saved search result with only one search number, type in your search result number at steps 1 and 3, and choose "AND" at step 2.
